Growing up with endless encouragement to explore the unknown, Ayanna’s attitude towards life was shaped by a passion for discovery. What she found was an affinity for the beauty in things. Naturally, her search led her to art.
With an education in Creative Writing, Art History and Performance Studies from Emory University (BA) and New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts (MA), Ayanna began her career as an arts educator and curator in New York.
Her multidisciplinary background evolved into a more specific interest in the relationship between art and words, which spawned a career in advertising. For the last ten years she has worked across a range of sectors including automotive, beauty, CPG, health, luxury, QSR, retail, telecommunications, and travel and has created notable campaigns for clients such as Verizon, Bermuda, P&G, Kimberly-Clark, Unilever, McDonald’s, Toyota and Comcast.
Having won numerous awards for both efficacy and creativity, she remains zealous about creating work that is conceptual, smart and elevates culture.
Her personal passion includes being a diversity advocate. Outside of making creative for world-class brands, she conducts seminars on leadership and creativity for the AIGA and speaks on diversity and inclusion panels in Chicago.
It is highly likely that she will never stop exploring.
